– Lowland climate (up to 300 m)
– Low altitude climate (300-600 meter)
– Middle altitude climate and sub-alpine (600-1,200 m) and
– Alpine climate (1,200-2,017 m).
Climate of Kopaonik is marked with over 200 sunny days a year, which is why it bears the name “Mountain of the Sun”. The position of the massif, level and openness of the terrain prevent continual detaining of cloudiness over the mountain. Snow with some deviations fall in late November and lasts until May, on average 180-230 days per year. The maximum temperature on Kopaonik was measured in the meteorological station on Pančić top on July 24, 2007 and amounted to 30,0°C, while the minimum temperature measured on January 25, 1954 was -26,6°C. Due to the favorable climate, the number of sunny days a year and geomorphological diversity, Kopaonik is very suitable for development of winter, summer, rural and spa tourism in this area.
